High Mas: Carnival and the Poetics of Caribbean Culture by Kevin Adonis Browne

January 18, 2019 the 150 Franklin Gallery opened High Mas: Carnival and the Poetics of Caribbean Culture, photography by Kevin Adonis Browne. This is High Mas’ international debut.

Browne is a photographer, poet, archivist, and scholar of contemporary rhetoric and Caribbean culture. His previous books include Tropic Tendencies: Rhetoric, Popular Culture, and the Anglophone Caribbean. He is currently based in Trinidad where he works at the University of the West Indies-St. Augustin.

The gallery will have the work until March 15.
